Darcy K. Houghton

Background: Darcy Houghton has a broad range of experience as both an attorney and as a strategic business leader.  She is committed to helping families define and continue their legacy for multiple generations! 

Education: Darcy received her Juris Doctor from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 1994. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Business, with a major in Accounting and a minor in finance, from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1987. She is currently an AV Rated Attorney with Martindale Hubbell.

Memberships: State Bar of Nevada, American Bar Association, Northern Nevada Estate Planning Council, Wealth Counsel (NV Forum Board Member), National Association of Elder Law Attorneys, First Judicial District Bar Association (President 2008-2010), Carson City Chamber of Commerce.

Personal: Darcy is married and involved with her family. She can often be found cheering for her kids at the baseball diamond or on the ski slopes. Her family loves NV and its great outdoors. During the summer the family loves exploring its back-roads.   Darcy volunteers her time with her local church, FISH, and Sierra Lutheran High School.

Darcy’s role at Houghton Jones, APC has transitioned from practicing attorney to Of Counsel.  She is no longer accepting new clients although she remains a trusted advisor to the firm.  In her continued pursuit to develop and strengthen family legacies, she is now working as a Client Administrator at Whittier Trust Company of Nevada (www.whittiertrust.com).
